One Room Challenge: Week 4

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

This week is all about sourcing art! Art is often one thing that's overlooked but really completes the space. For this project, there sin't so much open wall space since one wall is taken up by the window and built ins, one wall will have the piano and mirror over it, one wall will have the guitars displayed, and the fourth wall opens up into the dining room. However, there is another small wall space on the fourth where I'm planning on adding this pair:

These artworks are extra special to me because they were gifted by my grandparents and are traditional Russian pieces. If you look closely, you can see the tiny semi-precious stones that make up the landscape -- the texture and dimension is really gorgeous in person! If you have vintage art or something that's meaningful to you, it helps add a storied feel to your space.

But anything can be made into art: a framed piece of fabric, a silk scarf, favorite sheet music, or even a page from a well-loved book or manuscript. Of course, there are many great sources online for new art too, Minted and One King's Lane are two of my go-to's for their well-curated selection at excellent price points. I've gone ahead and rounded up some of my favorite pieces at the moment. Enjoy!

1. Blue Musings // 2. Contemporary Chinoiserie Diptych // 3. Lake Tahoe // 4. Glimpse // 5. Aspens at Altitude

That's it for now! See you next Thursday here for the next progress post, and be sure to follow along on Instagram for up to the minute updates :) I've also been loving following the featured designers' and other guest designers' transformations as well! See you next week!
