A BOHO GLAM LIVING ROOM + NURSERY TOUR

It's been a while since I've sat down to write up a post, but I've been meaning to share this beautiful project and today's the day! You might recall a few months ago I shared the mood board and a bit about this project, and once everything was wrapped up, I got to fly up to Los Altos to see it for myself. Since this was an e-design project, the whole process was done online, and even though I felt like I got to know the family pretty well, we had never met in person!

Valeria was so gracious and welcoming, and her kids were even more adorable than the pictures I had seen, but the best part was seeing the design that we had been working on for so long come alive in the space. We wanted the vibe to be calming and serene, but also refined, so an elevated California eclectic aesthetic is what we went with. Take a look!

LIVING ROOM

Since the open plan layout meant the space is is open to the entry, dining room, kitchen, and media room, I was mindful of tying in elements from those spaces to create consistency, and also keep it warm and neutral. The homeowners also wanted to make sure their two young children felt invited here as well, so nothing is too precious, and children's furniture is incorporated without looking like a playroom.

The lucite coffee table and flokati stools make the perfect spot for the kids to color or play board games, without looking overly juvenile. The hanging chair is often the setting for a family rumpus!

THE NURSERY

For Valeria's daughter Camille, we wanted to create a space that was inviting and whimsical, but still mature enough to grow with her through her toddler years. We initially had a crib, but upgraded to a twin bed as the project progressed. The enchanting Birds & Butterflies wallpaper by Schumacher was a huge jumping off point, and everything else fell into place from there.
