WEEKEND BRIEF

WHAT TO SEE, SHOP, AND READ THIS WEEK
1// see: Tudors to Windsors
This has been on my to-do list for some time, and I finally took a day to head to the museum district and see Houston's Museum of Fine Arts. The entire institution is very impressive and a must see if you're in town, but I was especially happy to catch the temporary exhibit, British Royal Portraits from Holbein to Warhol. It was fascinating to see the shift in perception over time, from Baroque to Modernism (fun fact: I almost majored in art history). Be sure to catch it this weekend if you're interested because it ends this Sunday!
2// shop: Paloma & Co
Houston's own Paloma Contreras of the Dolce Vita blog has ventured into retail this week, launching brick and mortar home decor shop, Paloma & Co. If you're not local, you can also get a taste of her classic aesthetic via her recently published book, Dream Design Live.
3// read: Terrazzo post
Trend alert: terrazzo is everywhere these days, but did you know it was originally developed as an affordable building material for commercial spaces? I've rounded up 32 ways to add terrazzo to your home without a major renovation.
4// in case you missed it
The study is shaping up! In this post, I'm sharing all the updates, inspiration, and the full design plan with all sources. Side note: if you've been scouring the internet for a live edge table, this one's for you!
Mood Board Monday: The January Edit -- this month's a blank slate in more ways than one.
