September mood board

//fall harvest//

This month we're all about slowing the pace a bit, lighting a candle, curling up with a good book. Although it doesn't feel quite like autumn yet here in Houston, we're craving shorter days and cooler temps, and reaching for moodier hues in our wardrobe and home decor alike. Deep shades of slate blue and forest green are predominant, especially in contrasting textures such as a silky slip skirt paired with a chunky knit. Pale golden yellow creates the ideal counterbalance, adding lightness and visual interest to the mix -- think: a pair of antique brass candlesticks in a styled bookshelf, or a pale yellow scarf peeking out for a monotone outfit. Whichever way you go, a blend of high and low; vintage and new, is what strikes the balance.
