La Vie en Rose

Having just returned from nearly two weeks in the south of France, the French Riviera is still very much on my mind. It's impossible not to be inspired by the sun-kissed Rhone Valley, and the Provencal warmth and rustic charm. Colorful painted wood shutters sprinkle whimsy throughout the warm earthy tones found in the region, and a similar color palette is echoed with colorfully hand painted dishes artfully set on a background of a neutral linen tablecloth. Naturally, painted wrought iron furniture, a crusty baguette, some artisanal cheese, and a glass of rosé must accompany. The charms of the French Riviera are not limited to the visual realm, as it is also the perfume capital of the world, with jasmine, orange blossom, lavender, and rose in abundance. Overall, recreating even a piece of the Provençal aesthetic at home reminds us to slow down and stop and smell the roses.

xo,

Estie
