Welcome to the Roaring Twenties. The new decade brings an updated version of Art Deco classics, including one of the trends I've been particularly drawn to: burl wood. Known for its unique whirled wood grain, a burl is created when the tree is deformed typically due to a fungal growth or injury. Talk about finding beauty in imperfection!


While traditional burl wood furniture comes with a hefty price tag due to its rarity and the level of craftsmanship required to harvest the delicate material, burl wood veneer is more accessible alternative. Or consider sprinkling burl wood accents around your home in the form of storage boxes, picture frames, and trays. It's the perfect way to add visual interest and a classic, yet current way.
